The Bar Council Sports Committee is organising the Interstate Games 2010 which will be hosted by the Pahang Bar and will be held on 26-28 February 2010 for the following events: Football, Netball, Volleyball, Badminton & Golf. All games except Golf will be played at SMK Teknik Pelindung, Kuantan and the golf tournament will be held at Pantai Lagenda Golf & Country Club, Pekan. The Games Dinner will be held at Duta Village Beach Resort on 27 Feb 2010. The Pahang Bar Committee is most appreciative if members could kindly contribute to this event. |

The 40th Pahang Bar Annual General Meeting will take place on 24th February 2010 (Wednesday) at 2.30 p.m. at Green Park Hotel, Temerloh. Registration will start from 1.00 p.m. and lunch is provided. All members are urged to attend so as to meet the required quorum and the presence of chambering students is compulsory. |

Pursuant to numerous complaints made against the Courts, The Pahang Bar Committee is compiling feedback (with supporting facts and the names of the presiding judges/Magistrates/Registrars) from all members with regards to the same to enable the Committee to bring them up with the Managing Judge, Y.A. Dato' V.T. Singham. The Committee would like to urge all members to be forthcoming with these details and do so to safeguard the interests of the Pahang Bar. Puan Siti Aminah Binti Ghazali has now been appointed as the Mediation Officer for civil suits in the Sessions Courts, Kuantan whilst Puan Ireane Isabelo will be the Mediation Officer for civil suits in the Magistrates Court, Kuantan. The Mediation Process will commence in the lower courts in Kuantan from 1 July 2009. |

All members are to take note that Y. A. Dato' V T Singham as Managing Judge,High Court (1) Kuantan has directed that all Supplemental Affidavits for foreclosure cases must be filed 5 days before the hearing of the matter. Cases in which the Affidavits are filed less than period directed will NOT be called on the hearing date and a new date will be assigned by the Registrar to be endorsed on the Notice of Appointment OR on a newly filed Notice of Appointment. |

Members are to take note that commencing 1 May 2009, the Sessions Court in Kuantan has re-assigned the cases as follows:- 1. Cases registered under Codes 63 & 64 will only be heard in the Sessions Court 5 & 6 2. Cases registered under Codes 61 & 62 in the year 2009 will be re-assigned according to consecutive registration numbers. |
